Once the moving company has done its job and left you in your new home, there are important decisions to be made. What order should you unpack in to make your new apartment feel like home quickly? And what else should you consider when unpacking? <\/p>

Here are some practical tips for a smooth move:<\/p>

1. Bedroom<\/strong>
To deal with the stress of a busy moving day, it's important to get a good night's sleep. Sleep comes first! From the start of your move, make sure your bed is packed so that you can be the first to unpack it in your new home. Label boxes with bedding, pillows and blankets \u201cThese first.\u201d This way you can avoid extra stress at the end of a long day and go straight to bed. If you have children, remember other important bedtime routine essentials such as soft toys, bedding, and toiletries. As the saying goes, \u201cWhen the kids are happy, the parents are happy.\u201d<\/p>

2. Kitchen<\/strong>
Moving is physically demanding. Make sure you can quickly prepare energy-rich snacks and meals of the day, such as breakfast and dinner. The kitchen is also the heart of your home during the move. Switch on the fridge and coffee maker, and pack enough dishes, glasses and cutlery so that hunger and thirst don't surprise you. Plan your kitchen unpacking in advance, and think about what you'll need immediately. Careful planning will save you from later arrangements. <\/p>

3. Living room<\/strong>
Furnishing the living room is key during the move. The living room is one of the most important spaces in everyday life, especially for children. It's also a space for relaxation, so it's important to get it up and running quickly. With a TV and internet connection, you can take a breather and stay connected to the world even in the midst of the moving chaos. Tables, bookshelves and sofas will quickly bring a sense of home to your new apartment, so be sure to include them on your unpacking list. <\/p>
