Organising your entire home at once can seem like an overwhelming project. But don't worry! With the help of American professional organiser Ellen Delap, we've put together a month-long to-do list to help you organise your home one step at a time. This will make your everyday life smoother and more functional than ever before.
Remember that things don't always have to be sold, donated, recycled or thrown away.
You can also keep the most important things that seem unnecessary at the moment. A small, well-organised storage space is a great extension of your home.
Day 1: Set goals
Think about what you want to achieve by organising your home. Write down your goals and add daily tasks to your calendar. That way you won't forget what to do and you'll move steadily towards your goal.
Day 2: Table tops full of random stuff
Take a day to go through the levels of your home, such as kitchen worktops, coffee tables and bookshelves. It's easy to accumulate items on these surfaces that already have a place - or belong in recycling or the trash.
