1. Arriving at the facility
Welcome to Pelican Self Storage Viikki! Our address is Pihlajistonkuja 4, Helsinki.
Our customer service is open weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00.
In our store, you can purchase moving and packing supplies such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tape, and more. Welcome to take a look!
If you experience any issues outside of opening hours, please call our emergency number 020 491 2761.
2. Loading area/entrance
You can drive your car or trailer directly into the loading area, keeping you sheltered from the weather as well.
Entry to the loading area is through the gates next to the waste shelter.
Exit is through the gates next to the store.
The loading area can accommodate four cars at the same time.
Please note that parking in the loading area is only permitted while loading or unloading.
Once you’re done, kindly move your car to one of the designated parking spaces.
3. Opening hours and the Pelican Smart Access app
You have access to your storage unit every day of the year from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM, starting from the first day of your contract.
To access your storage unit, you need to activate the Pelican Smart Access app. We have sent you a text message to help you set up the app. The message contains a link to the app itself, as well as a code you can use to activate it. Instructions for using the app can be found here:

If you experience any issues outside of opening hours, please call our emergency number 020 491 2761.
4. Carts in the loading area
You can borrow hand trucks, pump trucks, and flatbed carts from the loading area to help transport your belongings. The carts are not locked, and we kindly ask that you return them to their place after use. Carts may not be taken into your own storage unit or borrowed for personal use.
5. How to find your storage unit
The elevators are located in the lobby right after the loading area doors. The first number of your storage unit indicates which floor your rented unit is on. (For example, 3123 is located on the third floor.)
Once you reach the correct floor, you’ll find storage unit numbers and arrows in front of the elevator indicating which direction to go to find your unit.
Access to the garage-type storage units is from outside. These units are located on the side and back of the building.
6. Using your storage unit
Once you’ve found your rented unit, please double-check that you’re about to enter the correct one. The storage unit number is located on the outside of the door.
Open the door by pulling the latch open. This releases the lock, and the door can then be opened.
On the floor of the storage unit, you’ll find a safety-approved cylinder lock with its key. Please note: Pelican does not keep spare keys to your lock.
Your unit is now ready for use.
7. How to open and lock the storage unit door
Closing the door:
Push the door shut and move the metal latch into place so that the door locks. (For roll-up doors, pull the door all the way down and make sure it is fully closed so you can secure the latch.)
Make sure the cylinder lock’s tab is aligned with the lock. (See image 2: the dots on the lock facing each other.) Insert the lock into the lock housing and turn the key counterclockwise. Remove the key, and the lock should stay in place. Double-check that the door does not open.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch, and you can now open the door.
Garage-type storage units:
Inside the unit, you will find two (2) iLOQ keys and an illustrated guide for opening and closing the door. The first time you arrive at your unit, the door will be unlocked and can be opened by lifting it.
