On this page, you will find instructions for arriving at the Pelican Töölö location, parking, and starting to use your storage unit. Access is conveniently managed via the Pelican Smart Access app.
1. Arriving at the location
Welcome to Pelican Self Storage Töölö! Our customer service and the entrance to the parking garage are located at Päivärinnankatu 1, 00250 Helsinki. Our customer service is open weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00.
In our shop, you can purchase moving and packing supplies such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tapes, etc. Welcome to visit us!
2. Loading area/entrance
You can access your storage unit through the Päivärinnankatu entrance (to the right of the shop) or through the parking garage (to the left of the shop). You can open the doors using the Pelican Smart Access app.
Please note that the maximum vehicle height in the parking garage spaces is 2.2m.
In case of problems outside of opening hours, please call the emergency number 020 491 2761.
3. Opening hours and site access
You have access to your storage space every day of the year from 05:30 to 22:00, starting from the commencement date of your contract.
To access your storage, you must set up the Pelican Smart Access app. You have received a text message to set up the app, which contains a link to the app itself and a code to activate it. Instructions for using the app can be found here: https://pelican.fi/app
3. Loading area/parking garage
You can drive your car into the parking garage, which also serves as a loading area. Parking spaces are located immediately to the right after the ramp. Please note that the maximum vehicle height when driving into the loading area is 2.2m.
Please also note that parking in the loading area is permitted only during loading or unloading.
From the loading area, you can borrow hand trucks, pallet jacks, and trolleys for transporting goods. The trolleys are not locked, and we ask that you return them to their place after use. Trolleys must not be left in your own storage unit or taken away.
4. Mannerheimintie entrance
There may be several visitors at the storage facility at the same time. In such cases, you can also use the elevators/entrance on the Mannerheimintie side.
6. How to find your storage unit
The first digit of your storage unit number indicates which floor your rented space is located on (e.g., 3053 is located on the third floor).
Special note for 3-digit units: you will find units numbered 100–299 on floor -1 and 300–450 on floor -2.
Wine storage units are on floor -2 and are numbered 500–720.
When you arrive at the correct floor, the units are located to the left. You will find signs on the walls indicating which direction to go to find your unit.
7. Using the storage unit
Once you have found your rented space, please double-check that you are indeed moving into the correct unit. The unit number is outside the door.
A safety-approved cylinder lock with keys is on the floor of the unit. Note: Pelican does not have spare keys for your lock.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch and you can now open the door.
Closing the door:
Push the door closed and move the metal latch into place so that the door locks. (For overhead doors, pull the door down and ensure it is fully down to engage the latch.)
Ensure that the cylinder lock tab is aligned with the lock. (See image 2: Dots on the lock aligned) Insert the lock into the housing and turn the key counter-clockwise. Remove the key and the lock should stay in place. Finally, ensure that the door does not open.
