Pelican Olari instructions
On this page you’ll find instructions for arriving at the Pelican Olari facility, parking, and getting started with your storage unit. Access is conveniently managed through the Pelican Smart Access app.
1. Arriving at the facility
Welcome to Pelican Self Storage Olari! The facility is located at Piispanmäentie 8, Espoo.
Our customer service is open weekdays 10 am–6 pm and Saturdays 10 am–2 pm.
In our shop you can buy moving and packing supplies such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tape, and more. Welcome to take a look!
To open the gate, you’ll need the Pelican Smart Access app on your phone.
If you run into any issues outside opening hours, please call our emergency number at 020 491 2761.
2. Loading area/entrance
You can drive your car/trailer straight into the loading area, keeping you sheltered from the weather as well.
The loading area has room for three cars at a time.
Please note that parking in the loading area is only allowed while loading or unloading.
Once you’re done, kindly move your car to one of the designated parking spaces.
3. Opening hours and the Pelican Smart Access app
You have access to your storage unit every day of the year from 5:30 am to 10 pm, starting from the beginning date of your contract.
To access your storage unit, you need to set up the Pelican Smart Access app. We’ve sent you a text message to help you get started. The message includes a link to the app itself as well as
a code to activate it. You can find instructions for using the app here:

4. Carts in the loading area
You can borrow hand trucks, pump trucks, and utility carts from the loading area to help move your belongings. The carts are not locked, and we kindly ask that you return them to their place after use. Carts may not be kept in your own storage unit or borrowed to take with you.
5. Finding your storage unit
The elevators are located in the lobby right after the loading area doors. The first digit of your storage unit number indicates the floor it’s on (e.g. 3123 is located on the third floor).
Once you reach the right floor, you’ll find storage unit numbers and arrows by the elevator showing which direction to go to find your unit.
6. Using your storage unit
Once you’ve found your rented unit, please double-check that you’re about to access the correct one. The unit number is on the outside of the door.
To open the door, pull the latch open. This releases the lock and allows the door to be opened.
On the floor of the unit you’ll find a security-approved cylinder lock with its key. Please note: Pelican does not keep spare keys for your lock.
Your unit is now ready to use.
7. How to open and lock the storage unit door
Closing the door:
Push the door shut and move the metal latch into place so the door locks. (For roller doors, pull the door all the way down and make sure it’s fully closed before locking the latch into place.)
Make sure the cylinder lock’s tab is aligned with the lock. (See image 2: the dots on the lock facing each other.) Insert the lock into the housing and turn the key counterclockwise. Remove the key, and the lock should stay in place. Double-check that the door doesn’t open.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch aside, and you can now open the door.
Drive-up storage units:
Inside the unit you’ll find two (2) iLOQ keys and a picture guide for opening and closing the door. The first time you arrive at your unit, the door will be unlocked and can be opened by lifting it.

A landmark along Länsiväylä, Pelican Olari offers storage space for both private and business customers. The storage units are located in an excellent spot between Matinkylä and Olari, at Piispanmäentie 8, Espoo. The facility is easy to reach from Länsiväylä, Kehä II, and Finnoontie alike. The location is ideal for residents and businesses throughout southern Espoo.
Pelican Olari also offers drive-up storage units that you can drive straight up to. Both our larger and smaller storage units are monitored and heated, and the facility is open every day from 5:30 am to 10 pm. The loading area is located indoors.
