Questions about your payment breakdown
What does my first payment consist of?
Your first payment is the total amount for the period stated at the top of the payment summary. The amount may include the monthly rent, discount, admin fee, lock, and your chosen insurance coverage.
What does monthly rent mean?
Monthly rent is the standard price for your storage space for a full month before any discount. If you move into the storage unit in the middle of the month, the rent is calculated in proportion to the start date of your access rights.
How is the rent discount calculated?
As a new customer, you receive a 50% discount on rent for the first two months. The discount applies only to the rent and is calculated proportionally if you gain access to the storage space in the middle of the month.
What do the admin fee and lock cover?
The admin fee and lock are a one-time payment covering the creation of the rental agreement and a unique lock for your storage space. This amount is only added to your first payment.
What does the insurance sum mean?
The insurance sum is the total value of your insured items. The price shown in the payment summary depends on the insurance sum you have selected.
Should I choose Pelican's insurance?
Pelican’s own insurance is optional, but your stored items must be insured. You can choose Pelican’s insurance or use your own insurance if it meets Pelican’s requirements and you can provide proof of coverage. We recommend Pelican’s insurance, which has been developed specifically for storage. Read about Pelican’s insurance.
When and how do I pay in the future?
After the first payment, rent is paid monthly in advance, and the due date is the 1st day of the month. You can pay automatically and without additional fees via direct debit or receive an invoice by email. See Pelican’s payment terms
