Pelican Itäharju Instructions
On this page you will find instructions for arriving at the Pelican Itäharju facility, parking, and getting started with your storage unit. Access is conveniently managed through the Pelican Smart Access app.
1. Arriving at the Facility
Welcome to Pelican Itäharju!
The facility address is Kalevantie 11, Turku.
Access to the storage units is through the gate on the Teräskatu side, using the Pelican Smart Access app.
Our customer service is open on weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm. In our store, you can purchase moving and packing supplies such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tape, and more. Welcome to take a look!
If you encounter any issues outside opening hours, please call our emergency number at 020 491 2761.
2. Loading Area/Entrance
There are two loading areas. Above the roll-up doors you will see the word “Loading,” and the doors are green. The roll-up doors open with the Pelican Smart Access app. You can drive your car inside the loading area while loading or unloading.
Looking from the gate, the first loading area fits three cars at the same time, while the smaller loading area at the back of the yard fits one car at a time.
Parking in the loading area is permitted only while loading or unloading. Once you are finished, please kindly move your car to one of the designated parking spaces. Please also note that the roll-up doors close automatically about 30 seconds after being opened. Pay attention to the door’s movement when driving in or out of the loading area.
3. Pelican Smart Access App
You have access to your storage unit every day from 5:30 am to 10 pm, starting from the beginning date of your contract.
In order to access your storage unit, you need to set up the Pelican Smart Access app. We have sent you a text message to help you set up the app. The message includes a link to the app itself, as well as a code to activate it. You can find instructions for using the app here:

4. Trolleys in the Loading Area
You can borrow hand trucks, pump trucks, and flatbed trolleys from the loading area to help transport your belongings. The trolleys are not locked, and we kindly ask that you return them to their place after use. Trolleys must not be taken into your own storage unit or borrowed for personal use elsewhere.
5. How to Find Your Storage Unit
When you arrive at the loading area, you will see numbered aisles. The aisles run straight ahead from the loading areas and are divided in increments of one hundred. Both loading areas provide access to all storage units. Follow the number signs to find your unit.
For example, if your unit number is 1564 and you enter through the first loading door as seen from the gate, walk to the left after entering through the roll-up door, and look for the aisle starting with 1500 — your unit will be located along it.
6. Using Your Storage Unit
Once you have found your rented unit, please double-check that you are indeed about to access the correct one. The unit number is located on the outside of the door.
Using the green storage door:
Open the door by pulling the latch open.On the floor of the unit, you will find a certified cylinder lock and keys.
Using the white storage door:
Open the door by pulling it, and you will find your lock and matching keys on the floor.
Please note: Pelican does not keep spare keys for your lock.
Your unit is now ready for use.
7. Using the Green Storage Door:
Closing the door:
Push the door shut and move the metal latch into place so that the door locks. (For roll-up doors, pull the door all the way down and make sure it is fully closed so you can secure the latch.)
Make sure the cylinder lock’s tab is aligned with the lock. (See image 2: the dots on the lock facing each other.) Insert the lock into the lock housing and turn the key counterclockwise. Remove the key, and the lock should stay in place. Double-check that the door does not open.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch, and you can now open the door.
8. Using the White Storage Door:
Open the door by pulling it, and you will find your lock and matching keys on the floor.
Place the lock on your door, remove the key, and press it shut until you hear a small click. Make sure the lock is securely closed by gently pulling it downward.
Your unit is now ready for use.
Pelican does not keep spare keys for your lock.

The facility is easy to reach from the direction of Turku city center, Varissuo, and the Helsinki highway.
