Pelican Kilo instructions
On this page, you will find instructions for arriving at the Pelican Kilo location, parking, and starting to use your storage unit. Access is conveniently managed via the Pelican Smart Access app.
1. Arriving at the location
Welcome to Pelican Self Storage Kilo! Our address is Kilonkartanontie 1, Espoo.
The yard gate is open during our customer service hours (weekdays 10:00–18:00, Saturdays 10:00–14:00). If you arrive when customer service is closed, the yard gate will be locked. You can open the gate using the Pelican Smart Access app.
Note! You can purchase moving and packing supplies, such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tape, etc., from our store. Welcome to visit us!
2. Loading area/entrance
You can drive your car/trailer directly into the indoor loading area, where you will be protected from the weather.
The loading area can accommodate two cars at a time. An alternative loading door is located under the canopy immediately to the right of the loading area.
Please note that parking in the loading area is only permitted during loading or unloading.
Once you are finished, please move your vehicle to the designated parking spaces.
3. Opening hours and the Pelican Smart Access app
You have access to your storage unit every day of the year from 05:30 to 22:00, starting from the commencement date of your contract.
To access your storage, you must set up the Pelican Smart Access app. We have sent you a text message to help you set up the app. The message contains a link to the app itself and a code to activate it. Instructions for using the app can be found here:

4. Trolleys in the loading area
You can borrow sack trucks, pallet jacks, and trolleys from the loading area to transport your belongings. The trolleys are not locked, and we ask that you return them to their place after use. Trolleys must not be left in your own storage unit or taken away from the premises.
5. How to find your storage unit
The elevators are located in the lobby immediately after the loading area doors. The first digit of your storage unit number indicates which floor your rented space is on. (e.g., 3123 is located on the third floor.)
When you arrive at the correct floor, there are unit numbers and arrows in front of the elevator indicating which direction to go to find your unit.
6. Using the storage unit
Once you have found your rented space, please double-check that you are moving into the correct unit. The unit number is located outside the door.
Open the door by pulling the latch open. This releases the lock and allows the door to be opened.
A safety-approved cylinder lock with keys is located on the floor of the unit. Note: Pelican does not have spare keys for your lock.
The unit is now ready for use.
7. How to open and lock the storage unit door
Closing the door:
Push the door closed and slide the metal latch into place so that the door is secured. (For overhead doors, pull the door down and ensure it is fully down to engage the latch.)
Ensure that the cylinder lock’s tongue is aligned with the lock. (See image 2: Dots on the lock aligned). Insert the lock into the lock housing and turn the key counter-clockwise. Remove the key, and the lock should stay in place. Finally, verify that the door does not open.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch, and you can now open the door.
Drive-up units:
Inside the unit, there are two (2) iLOQ keys and illustrated instructions for opening and closing the door. When you arrive at the unit for the first time, the door is unlocked and opens by lifting.

Pelican Kilo is located in Espoo along Vanha Turuntie, less than 2 kilometers from the Sello shopping center. The location is very easy to reach from all ring roads and the Turunväylä highway. The location is ideal for residents and businesses in Leppävaara, Kauniainen, Lintuvaara, Karakallio, and Vallikallio, among others.
Kilo’s Pelican has nearly 700 heated and monitored storage units suitable for the various needs of both private and business customers. The units are open daily from 05:30 to 22:00, so you can visit your storage whenever it suits you best. The location also features several drive-up units where you can drive your car directly to the door. The loading area is located indoors. A receiving service for incoming shipments is available for businesses.
