Pelican Konala Instructions
On this page you will find instructions for arriving at, parking at, and accessing your storage unit at the Pelican Konala facility. Access is conveniently managed through the Pelican Smart Access app.
1. Arriving at the Facility
Welcome to Pelican Self Storage Konala! Our address is Paperitie 5, Helsinki.
Our customer service is open weekdays from 10am to 6pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. In our store, you can purchase moving and packing supplies such as moving boxes, mattress covers, packing tape, and more. Welcome to visit us!
To access your storage unit, you will need to set up the Pelican Smart Access app.

Please note! Traffic is one-way. Drive around the building to reach the exit gate.
2. Loading Area/Entrance
If your storage unit is on the 1st floor, you can leave your car under the canopy at the loading area and unload your items from there into your unit. You can enter through the sliding doors using your access code.
Please note that parking in the loading area is only permitted while loading or unloading.
Once you’re finished, kindly move your car to one of the designated parking spaces.
2. Loading Area/Entrance
If your storage unit is on the 2nd floor, you can drive your car/trailer directly into the loading area. Maximum height 3.0 m. The loading area can accommodate two cars at the same time. If the loading area is full, you can temporarily park your car along the side of the building. Please note that the parking spaces in the upper yard are reserved for rent and cannot be used for parking!
3. Opening Hours and the Pelican Smart Access App
You have access to your storage unit every day of the year from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM, starting from the start date of your agreement.
To access your storage unit, you need to activate the Pelican Smart Access app. We have sent you a text message to help you set up the app. The message includes a link to the app itself and a code you can use to activate it. You can find instructions for using the app here:

4. Carts in the Loading Area
You can borrow hand trucks, pump trucks, and utility carts from the loading area to help transport your belongings. The carts are not locked, and we kindly ask that you return them to their place after use. Carts may not be left in your storage unit or taken off-site.
5. Finding Your Storage Unit
The first digit of your storage unit number indicates which floor your rented unit is located on. (For example, 2215 is located on the second floor.)
Signs will help guide you to your storage unit.
6. Using Your Storage Unit
Once you’ve found your rented unit, please double-check that you are about to access the correct unit. The storage unit number is on the outside of the door.
Open the door by pulling the latch open. When locking the unit, make sure to close the latch again before attaching the lock.
A certified cylinder lock with keys is located on the floor of the storage unit. Please note: Pelican does not keep spare keys to your lock.
Your unit is now ready for use.
7. How to Open and Lock Your Storage Unit Door
Closing the door:
Push the door shut and move the metal latch into place so that the door locks. (For roller doors, pull the door down and make sure it is fully closed so you can move the latch into place.)
Make sure the tab on the cylinder lock is aligned with the lock. (See Image 2: the dots on the lock should face each other.) Insert the lock into the lock housing and turn the key counterclockwise. Remove the key, and the lock should stay in place. Double-check that the door does not open.
Opening the door:
Turn the key to the right and pull the cylinder lock out of its housing. Move the metal latch, and you can now open the door.
Drive-up storage units:
Inside the storage unit, you will find two (2) iLOQ keys and an illustrated guide for opening and closing the door. The first time you arrive at your unit, the door will be unlocked and can be opened by lifting it.
