STORAGE FOR INDIVIDUALS

Author: Louise Langebæk

Dreaming of a more organized home and less clutter? You don’t have to clean your whole home in one weekend.

Moving into a new home is exciting, but there’s also a lot to remember. With a little planning, you’ll settle in more easily and create a functional home right from the start.

When parents have lived in the same home for years, belongings tend to pile up. Furniture, books, kitchenware, photographs, and boxes of memories often take up more space than you’d think.

Is there too little space at home? A storage unit is an easy solution when closets, the basement, or the garage start to fill up. You can store items there that you want to keep but do not need on display every day.

Insurance during storage – are your belongings insured?
Many people store furniture, clothing, sports equipment, and other property in a basement, garage, or shed. But do you know how your belongings are insured if they are damaged by, for example, water, fire, or theft?

The circular economy is about using our belongings for longer, repairing and reusing them, and thinking carefully before throwing anything away. But this requires space. In the right kind of storage, furniture, clothes, tools, and other items stay safe until they’re needed again.

An increasing number of people are thinking about how to better prepare for power outages, water supply disruptions, or other unexpected situations. However, good emergency preparedness requires both planning and space.

A storage unit provides valuable extra space when your home becomes cluttered, or when you are moving or renovating. But how do you make the most of the space?
